AUTONOMY, RELATEDNESS AND COMPETENCE OF PARTICIPANTS IN SPORTS PROJECTS OF TWO THIRD SECTOR ORGANIZATIONS

This research aimed to evaluate the levels of autonomy, relatedness and competence among participants of an extension project conducted in the city of Santa Fé do Sul and a social project developed in the cities of Jales/SP and Maringá/PR, as well as to compare the levels of autonomy, relatedness and competence of participants from both sports projects. The study was characterized as descriptive field research. The sample consisted of 127 respondents to the Brazilian version of the Basic Psychological Needs Satisfaction Scale, comprising 12 items distributed across the dimensions of competence, autonomy and relatedness. The comparison between the projects developed by the entities studied suggests that the mean scores are similar, with participants in the extension project showing higher average scores for competence, relatedness and autonomy than the other indices presented.
